Somali Festival & Culture 2023
The Somali Festival & Culture 2023 brought the community together for a vibrant celebration of identity, heritage, and shared experience.
Held in Bristol, the festival welcomed families, elders, young people, and guests for a programme filled with culture, conversation, and creativity. Over the course of the event, attendees enjoyed exhibitions, music, folklore dance, children’s activities, and open discussions that reflected Somali history and life in the diaspora.
A Space for Connection
The festival featured respected guest speakers and presenters, including Dr Nuur Hassan, who delivered a keynote on the role of Somali parents in children’s education.
Performers and artists brought the event to life through music, poetry, and traditional dance, creating moments of joy, pride, and connection. Children took part in dedicated activities designed to help them engage with Somali culture in a fun and welcoming way.
